The Nanjing Youth Olympic Games is another major Olympic event in China after the Beijing Olympic Games. It is the first Youth Olympic Games held in China and the second Olympic event held in China. There are 28 major events and 222 minor events. There are 3,787 athletes from 204 countries participating in the competition. It is one of the sports competitions with the most participating countries and regions. The hosting of the Youth Olympic Games makes Nanjing the second city in Greater China after Beijing to have hosted more than 200 countries and regions.
